The Italian textile industry is at the forefront in the movement towards the elimination of hazardous substances from the fashion supply chain. On 18th July 2017 more 6 companies: Calzificio Eire Srl, Texcene Spa and 4 coordinated by CID joined the DETOX commitment, the most advanced and ambitious chemicals related program in the fashion industry. The pioneers were Canepa in 2013, Berbrand, Besani, Italdenim, Miroglio Group, Tessitura Imperiali and Zip GFD in 2014, Lanfranchi and Gritti Group in 2015. In 2016 Cotonificio Olcese, Fellicolor, Itaclab, Mabo, Taroni, Alesilk, Dienpi, Filmar, Filmar Nile Textile, Imbotex, Maglificio Ripa, Monticolor, Ongetta, Italtextil and 27 other companies in the Prato district also joined the commitment. The 50+ suppliers have changed the rules of the game and make today possible for fashion brands and large retailers to find in Italy yarns, textiles, accessories, dyeing and finishing services free from harmful substances: a fully detoxed fashion supply platform.
